ANIEKPENO MKPANANG, Artist, Broadcaster, Compere, Teacher and Public Servant has come to be known as an epitome of creativity and innovation with an unparalleled zest for peak performance. On the completion of his NYSC assignment, he was employed as a teacher and in between 15 years of teaching in various Secondary Schools, started ‘Something to Remember’ a multi Award-Winning Radio Programme which at the 18th Conference of the Broadcasting Organizations of Nigeria, was officially acclaimed as the Longest-Running Radio Programme in Nigeria.
Besides his teaching and radio obligations, Mr. Mkpanang worked hard to emerge as an outstanding and highly sought-after Master-of-Ceremonies. In his unique way, he completely redefined the art of moderating events and won commensurate accolades in the process including an automatic elevation first, from the classroom to Government House and then, a move to the Presidency as Special Assistant to the President. After serving for six years at the Aso Rock Villa, he was appointed Director of Protocol, Akwa
Ibom State Government and is credited for laying a solid foundation and blueprint for the running of State Protocol in Akwa Ibom State. In the course of his Protocol work, Mr. Mkpanang executed many high profile assignments including planning and managing the official opening of the State Stadium with three
serving West African Heads-of-State in attendance, organizing the World-Class annual Akwa Ibom Christmas Carols Festival over the past two decades and assembling 25,272 Choristers across the State to set a Guinness World Record as the Largest Group of Carol Singers in the World, among others. He was later appointed Permanent Secretary, Protocol, then Permanent Secretary in the Special Services Department and currently, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
An Alumnus of the Qua Iboe Church Secondary School, Ika Annang, College of Education, Uyo, University of Port Harcourt and the University of Salford, Mr. Mkpanang has attended several Protocol, Human Resources Management, Leadership and International Event Management Training Courses in the UK, USA, Switzerland, The Netherlands, UAE, Kenya, South Africa, Ghana and Nigeria. Mr. Mkpanang is happily married to Ama and they are blessed with 3 Children.
